Impromptu Series on Canvas

Free inspiration and intuition

Impromptu Series

The definition of Impromptu is a free-form composition with the character of an ex tempore improvisation as if prompted by the spirit of the moment, usually for a solo instrument, such as piano. According to books, Johann Baptist Cramer began publishing piano pieces under the title of “Impromptu.", which seems to be the first recorded use of the term impromptu in this sense.

Regarding the use of this label being used for this Series of works as displayed herein, the subject matter has been developed on the canvas by using tape designing the composition and colour selection freely without far-reaching research of the subject.

Purposely the title of each work has been numbered, starting at 0, and  continued as the paintings were completed.
